Civil Wedding Ceremony

Meynell Langley Hall has two licensed ceremony rooms: 

The Drawing Room can accommodate up to eighty people (fifty seated and thirty standing) and is furnished with period dining chairs for the ceremony. 

The Library is suited to smaller groups of around twelve people. 

A room is available for the bride’s arrival and for meeting with the registrar before the ceremony. From this room the bride and her attendants are then able to make their entrance to the Ceremony Room. The marriage registers can be signed as part of the ceremony, or in a separate room if preferred. Ceremonies are performed by Registrars from the Amber Valley Register Office and need to be booked separately. A member of the Meynell Langley Hall team will be on hand to welcome guests and to assist throughout. 

Outdoor ceremonies are possible at Meynell Langley Hall with the approval of the registrar but will need to take place inside if the weather is inclement. 

After the ceremony, you may wish to serve drinks to your guests while you enjoy the house and gardens and take photographs. 

Marque Reception

The West Lawn, adjoining the house, makes a wonderful setting for a marquee. 

We offer hire of the lawn as a marquee site, with mains water provided. The marquee, its fittings and all other services (electricity generator, portable lavatories, outdoor lighting etc) need to be hired separately. Typically, hire of the lawn is for several days to allow for setting up, decorating and taking down of the marquee. 

Welcome drinks can be served in the house whilst enjoying the Regency rooms and open fires before moving to the marquee for the rest of the reception. 

The maximum total number of reception guests is 120. Musical entertainment must conclude by 11.30pm.
